Our school

Everyone is welcome at our school!

De Regenboog is a small school in the center of Heerhugowaard. Our school is a newcomers' school. All newcomers in the municipality of Dijk en Waard and the peripheral municipalities receive lessons at the Regenboog. The school was founded by the opening of the AZC in Heerhugowaard. The children who live in the AZC receive education here, but other newcomers, such as labor migrants and expats, also receive education from us. 
 

Multicultural school 

De Regenboog is a multicultural school where children from all parts of the world come together to learn the Dutch language and cultural norms and values. 
We believe it is important that children at our school can learn in an environment where they feel safe and welcome. We are a trauma-sensitive school. Teachers at our school provide structure and understand the children. We respect each other's background and way of thinking.
